Dr. Irina Patten was born in Ukraine. She was exposed to natural medicine and dreamed of becoming a holistic doctor since early childhood. She decided to solidify this dream after losing her first husband to cancer and seeking a more pharmaceutical-free alternative in her own battle with Lyme disease and mold toxicity.
After graduating from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine with Honors (Summa Cum Laude and the Valedictorian of her class), she continued furthering her education. She has completed countless continuing education hours in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Functional Medicine so that she could utilize the most effective and cutting-edge methods to care for her patients and empower them to make the best choices for their health.
She believes that a human body is meant to heal naturally and 90% of disease is a result of lifestyle, diet and environment. Address those elements, and you have a greater chance to heal and reverse chronic disease. Dr. Patten is passionate about educating her patients in lifestyle and preventative medicine and empowering them to make the right choices when it comes to their health and well-being.
Her areas of expertise include chronic pain, reproductive health, gynecological conditions, digestive issues and chronic complex patients with autoimmune conditions, Lyme disease, cancer, mold and multiple chemical sensitivities.
Having greatly benefited from Chinese and alternative medicines, Dr. Patten feels blessed to be in a profession where she can make a difference in people’s lives and is committed to providing superior service, treatment, and satisfaction with the utmost compassion, sincerity, integrity, and professionalism.
Dr. Patten holds a Master’s and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) and is licensed to practice in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board. She has state and national certifications in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine and is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. OM) with the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She also holds the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) certification in Reflexology, the highest qualification in the field that allows her to practice Reflexology internationally.
